My Old Man 04:34
MY Old Man My old man, before he died, cursed a world that he dispised, where money talks, the poor must pay, he'd pound his fist and then he'd say, They'll try to stop you, sing your song, don't pray to God to right that wrong, It's always darkest before the dawn when the new day comes, when the new day comes Before you sail, you need a star, to plot your course, know, who you are. and when you do, anchors away, enloy your life your a long time dead. Don't let them stop you, sing your song the voyage of life, can be short or long, Always darkest before the dawn when the new day comes, when the new day comes Dont let them stop you, sing out loud and sing out proud and if they try to, just raise your voice, louder and louder and louder. Feel the lash, upon your back, don't turn your cheek you musy fight back, they'll shed your blood, why, just because, drum beat now, just as it ever was. Most things in life are seldom free, don't let them take your dignity don't sell your soul or take the fall, if you know it's wrong, then make that call. Dont let them stop you, sing your song True to yourself, you can't go wrong Always darkest before the dawn when the new day comes, when the new day comes

Time’s Not On My Side You missed that girl just smiled at you, too busy doing what you do, take a moment, look around, pay attention to the sound, of this world you’re passing through. You missed his birthday, yet again, plain forgot, well that's a shame, Time now passed you can't get back, bag for life, you can't unpack, you’re too busy for to see Chorus - I know time’s not on my side, long as I live I haven’t died. Smile and say that I love you, To the ones who love you too. That’s all I'm asking you to do. The sound of silence would be good. Take the tree out of the wood, Look to the heavens, view the moon, smell the flowers in their bloom. Watch the clouds just drifting bye. Watch a sunset now and then, or go dancing in the rain, try laughing till you cry, It's the things that coin can't buy, Makes us human in the end. Chorus Leave some footprints in the sand, with your love just holding hands, Sitting with them, watch the dawn, while she sings your favourite song, It's your smile that says it all. And regrets I have a few, but no regrets for loving you. Son daughter wife and my old friends, brother, sisters, in the end it's been so good knowing you. Davy Kettyles 2018

Son Be a Man 03:25
Son Be A Man Dad was proud the night that I was born, eldest son, a promise kept, the family name lives on. The early years with me, were bliss for him, loved me so, watched me grow, thought his smile would never dim. As years moved on his disappointment grew - The snide remarks, in pubs and parks, bout his son they nicknamed Sue. I liked playing with my sister’s friends - Brother teased, dad displeased, Grew to hate me in the end And he’d say – Son be a man, He could not understand, I’m a she trapped in a he, lipsticks and high heel shoes He could not see, past my makeup I’m still me from a he to a she, lipsticks and my high heel shoes. I remember the last fight we had, He screamed at me, raised his hand, He beat me pretty bad, All the love that there once used to be, Anger replaced, memories erased, All he seen was a freak in me. And as he dragged me kicking out the door, He punched me once he punched me twice, Said don’t come back no more. Brother jeered, neighbours sneered, mother cried, Walked away, nothing more to say, Never seen him anymore. And he’d say – Son be a man, for he could not understand, I’m a she trapped in a he, lipsticks and high heel shoes He could not see, past my makeup I’m still me, so no love left to loose, lipsticks and my high heel shoes. My Sweet Palestine My son and my and daughter, did not make it home. Shot at your border for slinging some stones. My Mother Earth, she now cradle’s their bones, and I tend to their graves every morning. And as I do, what’s this I see, armed soldiers their cutting down my olive trees, For a thousand years, they were kissed by the breeze. But today, like my children, they’ve fallen. O yes, I’ve sipped your bitter wine, But you can’t kill the taste, of my sweet Palestine., What’s your is yours, but what’s mine is mine, and I’ll shed more tear come the morning . Choirs My Sweet Palestine, my tears you will find, waters the land every morning. Your letter came just yesterday. Said, pack my bags, and move away. Said the settlements, now, are here to stay, And, we’ll take your land, in the morning. Ice cold heart’s that won't defrost. Stealing back, what that claim they lost. They quote the Thora, while we count the cost, for their promised land, every morning. O yes, I sipped your bitter wine. While the world turns it’s back on my sweet Palestine, She’s getting smaller, one piece at a time, and there coming for more come the morning. Choirs My Sweet Palestine, my tears you will find, waters the land every morning. My friends, they say, I'm a peaceful man. Don't have a gun, just a slingshot to hand, With the rocks that I've tilled, from the soil of my land, we will greet you, when you come a calling, And come the dawn, hear the tank engine roar, I take my slingshot, stand at my front door, and very soon now, I’ll be no never more, for they’ll spilled my blood come the morning. No more I’ll sip your bitter wine, for I died today in sweet Palestine, I wanted a home, was that such a crime. Now my people for me, do the mourning. – And though, your pour more bitter wine, you won’t quench thirst for my sweet Palestine. Like the olives trees, we’ll grow back in time, for our roots to our land can’t broken, for our roots to our land can’t broken,

More Than Thoughts and Prayers They went down to the gun stores, claimed their democratic right To their semi-automatics with telescopic sights, A thousand rounds of ammo, then went to kill their prey, and when the hunt was over The same people always say: You’re in our thoughts and prayers, You’re in our thoughts and prayers, For the victims and their families, They’re in our thoughts and prayers. From Las Vegas to Orlando, Sandy Hook and Columbine, Sutherland Springs and San Ysidro, are some crimes that comes to mind. Now Stoneman Douglas High School,, Don’t let facts get in the way, “It’s bad people, not bad gun law”,That took your child they say, But you’re in our thoughts and prayers, You’re in our thoughts and prayers, For the victims and their families, in our thoughts and prayers Heard the NRA chief spokesman talking on the radio, saying “ we must arm the teacher, it's the way that we must go. We need no legislation, let not truth get in the way, It’s just the actions of some madmen, Then I heard my daughter say: We need more than thoughts and prayers, We need more than thoughts and prayers For the victims and their families, We want more than thoughts and prayers, We want more than thoughts and prayers, to stop the murder – halt the killing We need more than thoughts and prayers, Stop the murder, end the killing, And you can keep your thoughts and prayers. Shackles and Chains It's never too late to start again, and build a brand new road. Never too late to find what's lost in your tortured, troubled soul. Never too late for love to come and save you from your pain, Never too late to lose your shackles and your chains, Never too late to make amends, undo the harm once done. Never too late to take a bow for past battles you have won. Never too late to shed those tears you held back for all those years, Never too late to lose your shackles and your chains Chorus Shackles and chains, lose your shackles and chains, Never too late, long as blood flows through your veins It's never too late to see the light, upon reflection, Never too late to recognise you're a victim of deception, Never too late to understand who lit the fames that burned your land, Never too late to lose your shackles and your chains Shackles and chains, lose your shackles and chains Never too late, long as blood flows through your veins It's never too late, to turn and fight your tormentors, Never too late, to find within the courage of a great dissenters. It's never too late, to have your day, push back for a better way, Never too late to lose your shackles and your chains Shackles and chains, lose your shackles and chains, Never too late, long as blood flows through your veins Shackles and chains lose your shackles and chains, Never too late, long as blood flows through your veins Davy Kettyles 2018

Don’t Say – Only In America God damn, what were you thinking - Make America Great again, You, put that Trump in the White House, were you crazy, are you insane. Don't say, only in America - They were swaying to a Brexit beat, Don't say, only in America, - Our home-brewed hate is just as sweet Your free trade deals, took their union jobs, Took their way of life, hopes and dreams were robbed. Lock her up, their primal call, like U.S.A, and build the wall. God damn, look at Bernie Sanders, - He got screwed by the DNC. He should have been the contender - To fight that Trump’s chicanery Don't say only in America - The Euro Right have Marie Le Pen Don't say only in America - The fascist beast could rise again Waken up and be aware - They’ll prey on you and your despair Pied pipers’ tunes will fill your ears - exploit hopes, exploit your fears God damn, look at that white man, Look at his momma and his girlfriend too. They put that Trump in the White House, Blue collar workers once Democrats too. Don't say only on America – Working-class folk feel left behind. Don't say only in America - Their mad here too, and their rage is blind. Lock her up, throw away that key, a wave of hate for Hilary. Send the brown ones home, their sweet refrain, keep the Muslims out, make us great again, God damn, where was the black vote, thirty per cent Latinos went south, And lord where were all the sisters, many for Trump a misogynist lout, don’t say only in America, lie down with dogs get up with fleas, don’t say only in America they take your rights to keep you free. Your free trade deals took our union jobs, Took their way of life, hopes and dreams you robbed and Wall Street friends, so grand and chic, well to working folks, they are the elite - Don't say only in America - Don't say only in America - Don’t say only in America DaviE K 2016

Only God Knows In the name of Jesus, we put him in a cell, then dragged him to a dungeon for some torture so he’d tell – of names of the sinners, who spread this heresy, that the world is round, it’s not flat the way it oughta be. In the name of the father, we beat him up all night to make sure of his confession, that the words will come out all right. Hung from the rafters, and we flayed you to the bone, and before the flames engulfed you, your wife and kids we stoned. God forgiveth the sinner, God forgiveth our sins , We do this in your name dear lord - For to heaven to get, Inflicting pain for salvation - We just muffle up the screams – Like the Spanish Inquisition - Only God knows what it means In the name of the Righteous - We can take the holy land building settlements and outposts – building castles in the sand, the power of old glory is there at our command, and it’s written in the testaments - that trumps the rights of man. In the name of Allah - You could really lose your head, For something that you’ve written - Or something that you said. Some have the honour killings - for their daughters and our wives, If they stray across the borders – of how they must live their lives Allah forgiveth the sinner -Allah forgiveth the sin, For 40 vestal virgins – wait in heaven when I get in, And as I press my trigger finger – can you hear the muffled screams of the dying and the wounded? Only god know what it means In the name of Jehovah – we will tell you what to do, How to live your life - And who you should love too. For your abomination - We condemn you if you’re gay, Some fire and some brimstone - Should mend your evil ways In the name of Jesus -We gunned that Doctor down For he did a termination - On a girl raped in this town, we persecute the sinners - Who spread this heresy – That the world is round - It’s not flat - the way it oughta be May God forgive the sinner –My God forgive their sins. But God let’s lock them pearly gates, dear God don’t let them in - Inflicting pain on creation, we won’t muffle up the screams of the children that they abused - some not even in their teens - Davy Kettyles 2016

Ching Ching – Workingman (Backing track By SnakeBite) Honk Honk, that traffic’s murder, tailback goes for miles and miles, Yack yack, my back seat driver tips me well but he never smiles. Bish bash, the windscreen wipers, sweep away the pouring rain, he likes to take the winnings, but not the losses, and not the blame. Ha Ha, he’s so funny, his tongue’s so sharp it needs a sheath, My my, he’s a honey, till he bark and show his teeth. Ching, ching, the sound of money, Wall Street banker on the make, High fives and funny handshakes, being born poor was my mistake. Chorus - I am a workman, when I can, tryin’ to earn a living. I am a workingman, have no plan, my life’s just for living, I am a workingman, a workingman, my life’s unforgiving. Whoom, Whoom, his jet’s awaiting, Not sure if we’ll be on time, He knows he wants for nothing, he’s done well from a life of crime. Zing, Zing, he’s all magic, smoke and mirrors, that’s all you, Bang, Bang, your high-class mistress, a hooker heart, she’s into you .. Boom boom a loud explosion, Lear jet crashes to the ground, Wonder what he’s thinking on that plane as it went down - Cha cha, you go dancing, on the graves of better men, tombstone a mere inscription – “Fear me son I’ll rise again”. Chorus Ding dong, my bells a-ringing, bailiffs pounding on my door. Bang bang, my gun’s a-blazing, offered some, bank wanted more, Thud thud, hear them falling, shotgun cartridge from my breach. Nee Naa, the sirens roaring, hard lesson life now to teach Ting ting, my stops a-coming, try to get off if I can. My my, the light’s a-fading, stand up straight and be a man, Ching ching, got no money, cha cha, dancing on my grave, bang bang my gun’s still blazing, the end is nigh – go get a spade – go get a spade.
